Dr. Michelle A. Williams, Advisor

Michelle A. Williams is a leading epidemiologist and academic with a notable career in public health. She recently completed a seven-year term as Dean of the Faculty at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and is now a Visiting Professor at Stanford University. Dr. Williams’s impact on epidemiology is significant, with previous roles including Professor and Chair of the Department of Epidemiology at Harvard Chan School and Program Leader for Population Health and Health Disparities Research at Harvard’s Clinical and Translational Sciences Center. She also had a distinguished tenure at the University of Washington School of Public Health. Her research, covering reproductive, perinatal, pediatric and molecular epidemiology, includes over 520 published scientific articles. Dr. Williams’s work has earned her numerous honors, such as election to the National Academy of Medicine in 2016, the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2020 and recognition as one of PR Week’s top 50 health influencers that same year.
