Dr. Cook is an experienced Internal Medicine Specialist with over 26 years in the field. He graduated as a Gold Medalist from Queen’s University Medical School in 1986 and completed his residency in general internal medicine at the University of Toronto in 1995. He also holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of London (2006).
Dr. Cook’s career includes two decades with the Canadian Forces Medical Services, where he specialized in occupational and environmental health, and served as the personal physician to several Governor Generals of Canada. He remains a consultant physician and conducts research in human performance at Defence Research and Development in Downsview.
Since 2003, Dr. Cook has transitioned into executive roles, including serving as the Associate Medical Director at the Medcan Clinic and Chief Medical Officer at Tailor Medical Clinic. He currently practices internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and holds a teaching appointment at the University of Toronto. His expertise covers preventive health, genomics, metabolic diseases, and cardiovascular risk management. Additionally, he has a strong interest in MindBody and Integrative medicine and is Co-Director of the University of Toronto’s Human Biology Integrative Health Course.
